World Refugee Day 2021

World refugee day is the 20th of June. In 2021 that was one day before the UK promised to open up for ‘normal’ again. Throughout the pandemic the government has been promising tighter border control because of Covid – but instead of grounding flights of tourists, the restrictions applied to refugees and migrants.

With our posters we highlighted how the government secretly used the pandemic to make restrictions for refugees even harder – without any date they are going to go back to ‘normal’. We used the governments coronavirus ‘stay alert’ look and feel for our posters, which highlighted that the borders won’t open up again – if you’re a refugee.
