David Liedl

David S. Liedl was born in Nepal and spent his early years in India. In Austria, he studied printing and media technology at the Federal Higher Institute for Graphic Arts, Education, and Research. Even while still a student, he worked for well-known advertising agencies. In 2009, he began teaching at the University of Angewandte Arts Vienna. The rich variety of colors found in India is reflected in his portfolio.

In the “Printing and Prepress” course, students gain insights into the world of image editing and final artwork preparation. The course covers theoretical topics ranging from color theory to printing techniques, but focuses primarily on hands-on work with software such as Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop. The art of prepress preparation and creative image editing techniques are central to the practical component and are sometimes applied to real-world projects.
