Aerostructure µHoubolt

I was looking for a way to apply the knowledge gained from my studies in practice. I found this opportunity at the TU Wien Space Team, a team of students who spend their free time building satellites, experimental rockets and aeroplanes.

I became part of project µHoubolt, where members worked on the development of a bi-liquid propelled rocket. I was responsible for the aerostructure module where I – together with my team – build an airframe that is stable and lightweight at the same time. We engaged with various manufacturing techniques, experimented and improved until the result was really worth seeing. At the European Rocketry Challenge in October 2022, the Fincan was of particular interest because of it being made from in a single piece.
