Oliver Voss is one of the most distinguished creatives worldwide. After many years as Creative Head of Jung von Matt, he is today owner of Oliver Voss advertising agency and head of Miami Ad School in Hamburg and Berlin.
Oliver Voss started his professional career in 1986 as a junior copywriter for “Rahmel & Partner” in Cologne. In 1989, he switched to the Cologne agency “Robert Pütz Werbeagentur”, working there as a copywriter.
In 1992, he relocated to New York as a copywriter for Deutsch Advertising, switching in 1994 to Jung von Matt in Hamburg, which, with only 25 employees, was quite small at the time. His customers included BILD, Sixt, Porsche and Jever, and his campaigns won many awards such as the first Cannes Lion in Gold for Jung von Matt.
Two years later, he was the first German copywriter to move on to Wieden & Kennedy, Amsterdam, where he worked for Nike Europe and Coca Cola, writing in German and English.
After three years – in 1998, he returned to Jung von Matt, setting up Jung von Matt Munich and managing the agency for three years, with customers such as D2 (now Vodafone), Sixt, Antenne Bayern, and many others.
In 2001, Oliver Voss became Jung von Matt’s creative director in Hamburg. He was in charge of numerous national and international clients, creating campaigns for MINI, IWC, Ebay and “Du bist Deutschland”. Six years later, he took over the creative board, remaining in that position until he left the agency in 2009.
At the same time, Oliver Voss set up the Miami Ad School in Hamburg together with his partner Niklas Frings-Rupp in 2003. He has remained managing partner of that private advertising academy until today. Professionally training copywriters, art directors, designers and digital specialists for the advertising business, the school has won the Cannes award as the most successful advertising academy four times running. A further branch was opened in Berlin in 2009.
In 2010, after spending a sabbatical in Greece, Oliver Voss set up Oliver Voss advertising agency based in Hamburg. Two years later, his agency won the “Newcomer Agency of the Year” award. Today, it is one of the most creative advertising agencies in Germany.
