What can we designers contribute to improve gender equality? What do we want to call attention to viewers? What do we want them to think about? As part of this cooperation project, students from Hangzhou, Tokyo and Vienna
picked topics that lie close to their hearts. They deepened their knowledge and found solutions to express them in words and pictures – concentrated on a poster.

Concurrent exhibitions featuring over 100 posters from all three cities provide us with insights, views and outlooks into other cultures and ideas, including posters of students from Sven Ingmar Thies’ lecture serie „Plakate gestalten“ in Matthias Spaetgens’ Klasse für Ideen (Class of Ideas).

The exhibition „Gender Equality, Hangzhou – Tokio – Wien“ is a collaboration project of China Academy of Art Hangzhou, TAMA Art University Tokyo and University of Applied Arts Vienna.
