Sergio Alcocer is regarded as one of the most colourful personalities in US American advertising. Alcocer was born in Mexico City, commencing his career there with Leo Burnett, and later moving on to Leo Burnett in the Dominican Republic and then to Young & Rubicam in Caracas and Venezuela. Afterwards, he worked for Castor Advertising in New York, one of the best multicultural advertising agencies of its time in the USA.
In 1999, Alcocer founded LatinWorks agency in Austin, Texas. Acclaimed by Ad Age magazine as one of the ten best agencies in the USA, it also received multiple awards from Advertising Age and ADWEEK as Multicultural Agency of the Year. LatinWorks regularly wins prizes at international festivals such as the Cannes Lions. Today, the agency boasts over 150 employees and a turnover of 180 million USD.
Sergio Alcocer has been twice Speaker at Cannes and member of the Jury at all major festivals throughout the world. He graduated from the Berlin School for Creative Leadership with an Executive MBA; he is also member of the Art Directors Club of New York.
