Catherine Nippe
Catherine Nippe is a London-based, Swiss/German graphic designer, she completed a Masters in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins. Prior to setting up her own practice in 2006 she worked at various design agencies in Hamburg, London and Switzerland.
Additional to her professional practice she teaches as a Senior Lecturer at Ravensbourne University in London and typography at the University of Applied Art Vienna further to that she was invited to hold talks, workshops and lectures at the University of Bristol, Portsmouth and Rochester.
Her work has won various awards and has been featured in publications, blogs and exhibitions including: 1Page at the Design Museum, D&AD, Fifzine Magazine, Input Output, It’s nice that, Young Blood, Kurzfilm Festival and Onedotzero.

Her typography workshops provid an access point into the world of typographic design. Practical exercises in calligraphy, designing type, choice of typefaces and the combination thereof, text and image composition, and many others, are substantiated and contextualized in theoretical, historical and philosophical aspects.
